Kiwis' mobile data use has increased dramatically in recent years and demand for mobile services continues to grow. The Connexa team is focused on ensuring Aotearoa is keeping up with this increasing demand, both today and into the future, by building an additional 800 towers over the next eight years to support the required growth in coverage and capacity.

As the Assistant Accountant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial and project administration aspects within Connexa. The Assistant Accountant will work closely with Finance Business Partner, Senior Accountant and collaborate throughout the business. Success in this this role will be in the maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, managing accounts, and providing essential support to the finance team. This is a part time role 4 days a week in a 12 month fixed term contract.

What will I be doing?
- Accounts Payable: Assist the AP Officer to ensure invoices are verified, purchase orders are matched, and approvals are obtained
- General Ledger & Financial Records: Support with month end, including accruals, reconciliations and journal entries
- Project Accounting & Reporting: Assist with project cost tracking, reporting, and budget alignment. Ensure timely on-charging of claimable expenses
- Fixed Asset Management: Support asset capitalisation, support and review the fixed assets register.
- Revenue Assurance & Financial Controls: Assist in capturing infrastructure project revenue and maintaining financial controls and reconciliations.
Requirements
- Intermediate level Assistant Accountant experience within a fast growing organisation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Project Management or related field is not necessary, but viewed as an advantage
- Willingness to be a hands on team player
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills to handle diverse administrative responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to new systems and processes as the organisation evolves
- Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues and streamlining workflow
- Fantastic communication skills in all formats
