Birch Mountain Enterprises (BME) is looking to hire a Working Foreman for our CAT-VAC Operation. This is a temporary, seasonal position based at our client's site, working a 10 on, 5 off schedule, with 11.5 hours days and nights.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor and operating from our client's site, the working Foreman is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the direction of on-site personnel and equipment is carried out as directed to meet the requirements of our customers. The individual in this position must be able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinating Personnel and equipment
Assist in the recruitment and management of personnel
Promoting a safe work environment through the implementation and creation of safe work procedures with HSE team
Development of personnel scheduling
Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all assigned equipment
Operate CAT-VAC safely and efficiently in mine environment.
Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather.
Completion, review, and sign off of daily documentation including but not limited to daily logbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, and pre/post trip inspections.
Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervision.
Complete daily housekeeping of assigned trucks to ensure maintenance of company image.
Lead daily-tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
Ensure that all training is kept current for yourself and your team.
Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations.
Seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
Provide customer-focused services in all activities.

Qualifications:

Possess a valid driver’s license (min class 5) with a clean abstract
Must have previous Wiggle Wagon experience
Must have previous experience driving in a mine
Previous CAT-VAC and/or Hydrovac experience considered an asset
Above-average troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organization skills
Strong computer skills (i.e. outlook, excel, SharePoint, etc.)
Preference shall be given to candidates with previous leadership experience
OSSA (or BSO or CSO) and CSTS certification
Must successfully pass BME pre-employment evaluation, D&,A and fit for duty pre-employment screening
